China Designs the World's First Hydrogen Tram [VIDEO]

"The world's first hydrogen powered tram."

The China South Rail Corporation announced this month the only hydrogen powered tram, making China in this sense the only country in the world that has applied this technology for a public transportation system.

The power source is based on hydrogen fuel cells that has been used in the car industry but not for public transport.

The tram can transport more than 380 passengers and can go over 100km at speeds of 70 km per hour. The only emissions from these trams will be water vapor.

Across China's vast expanse are only about 83 miles of tram tracks, laid out in just seven cities.
