Do similar regional economic activities produce similar patterns of water consumption to cities around the world? What do we really know about water when studying urban sustainability? What can medium size cities in the world'S driest desert tell us about the future of cities?

This first edition is part of a seminar organized by the University of Chile where MIT Professor John Fernández exposes part of its work related to the "Urban Water Metabolism" of Copiapó city located in the Atacama Desert.
